Justin Drummond is a home appliance reviewer and product researcher based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Since 2020, he has spent his time buying, testing, and living with kitchen appliances in his own home kitchen — focused on separating marketing claims from real-world performance.
He has personally tested dozens of air fryers from brands like Ninja, Cosori, Philips, Instant Pot, and Breville, cooking everything from whole chickens to frozen fries and dehydrated fruit to evaluate how products perform across different price ranges. His reviews focus on details manufacturers rarely highlight: temperature accuracy in real cooking conditions, long-term durability of baskets and coatings, and whether “easy to clean” claims hold up after repeated use.

How I Test
Every air fryer reviewed on TotalReviewed goes through the same evaluation process:
Initial setup — Out of the box experience, ease of assembly, clarity of the manual, and how intuitive the controls are from the first use.
Cooking performance — Each unit is tested across multiple food types including chicken thighs, frozen fries, vegetables, and where relevant, baked goods. I note cooking times, evenness of browning, and whether results match the manufacturer’s claimed settings.
Temperature accuracy — I check whether the unit reaches and holds its set temperature, and note any significant variance that affects real cooking outcomes.
Ease of cleaning — After each cook I evaluate how easy the basket, pan, and interior are to clean. I pay specific attention to whether non-stick and ceramic coatings hold up and whether “dishwasher safe” claims are accurate in practice.
Long-term durability — Where possible I note how coatings, handles, buttons, and displays hold up over extended use. I flag any quality issues that only become apparent after repeated cooking cycles.
Value for money — I evaluate each unit against its price point and available alternatives, not just against the broader market.
